Vorteilscard number

• What is changing in terms of using my ÖBB Vorteilscard?

  We ask for your Vorteilscard number when you book our tickets to ensure that the Vorteilscard discount is used correctly. We recommend that you save the Vorteilscard in your customer account in the ÖBB app. The Vorteilscard will then be automatically applied to ticket purchases made online through your account or via our ÖBB app. If you buy a ticket without logging in, you will need to enter the Vorteilscard number separately. After entering the number, the booking is made as usual.

  When purchasing at a ticket desk, the number must be presented to the sales assistant. For the time being, you will not need to enter your number at a ticket machine.

• Why do I have to enter my Vorteilscard number?

  There are 2 reasons why your Vorteilscard number is required:

  • If you have any queries or delays to your journey, we can help you even better via our hotline and our customer service. For example, if you want to book an additional service for a booked trip or if there is a problem with your connection, we can provide you with specific help and offer you a suitable solution. 
  • To ensure that your Vorteilscard discount is used correctly and to avoid incorrect bookings, we ask for your Vorteilscard number when you book your ticket.
• So far I have only been able to make bookings while logged into my ÖBB Account - will anything change for me?

  If you have saved your Vorteilscard in your ÖBB Account with your card number, nothing will change for you.

  If your Vorteilscard has previously been stored in your ÖBB Account without a Vorteilscard number, the Vorteilscard will be removed from your ÖBB Account on 8 May 2024. In order for the Vorteilscard to be recognised for future bookings or when using SimplyGo!, it must be saved in your ÖBB Account again, stating the card number.

  Tip: List additional passengers in your account! 
  You can also conveniently list the names of additional passengers with your Vorteilscard in your account. This means that it is not necessary to request their Vorteilscard number (until it expires) the next time you make a booking.

• How do I book Vorteilscard tickets for several people?

  It is still possible to book tickets for several people with a Vorteilscard without any problems. All you need is the Vorteilscard numbers of the other passengers.
  When specifying who is travelling, select the correct Vorteilscard as usual. In the dialogue window that opens, enter the 16 digits of the relevant Vorteilscard number. You will find the Vorteilscard number either on the plastic card or in their account under "My discounts".
