General questions about Congress Accounts

• How can I get an ÖBB Congress Account?

  We will send you a bespoke proposal for your event. When you accept the offer, we will create the congress account and the billing will start. Invoices are always sent out in the first week of the following month. After receiving payment of the invoice, a link to the ÖBB Congress Account and a TAN code for registration will be sent to you for congress participants. This will be sent no more than 6 months before the start of the event. By using this link with the TAN code, participants can register for the ÖBB Congress Account and benefit from the advantages it offers (22% congress discount on the ÖBB standard fare, 10% on the international standard fare). There is also a discount of around 45% when you travel on ÖBB Nightjets within Austria and around 25% on journeys to Germany, Italy or Switzerland (based on a seat ticket).

• How much does the ÖBB Congress Account cost?

  The one-off cost for using the account for the event is € 500.-. We are offering a 50% introductory discount until 31.12.2024.

• Who should I contact if the TAN or the link doesn’t work?

  Contact our Key Account Managers, they will be happy to assist you.

• Will participants be able to see each other in the congress account after they have registered?

  No, participants cannot see each other in the Congress Account.

• Does the congress organiser have access to the tickets booked by the participants?

  No, only the person who made the booking can view their itinerary and make changes if necessary.

• I already have an ÖBB Account. Can I use it to register for a Congress Account?

  Participants must register for the ÖBB Congress Account with a new e-mail address. It is not possible to link an existing ÖBB Account (ÖBB Customer Account or ÖBB Business Account).

• What will happen to my Congress Account after the event?

  After the event, we will create a report on all bookings made in the account and you will receive a breakdown of the CO² saved. Four days after the event has ended, all participant accounts will be closed and deleted.

• Do the participants get a discount on tickets that they book through the account?

  Participants registering for your ÖBB Congress Account will receive a 22% congress discount on the ÖBB standard fare and a 10% discount on the international standard fare. There is also a discount of around 45% when you travel on ÖBB Nightjets within Austria and around 25% on journeys to Germany, Italy or Switzerland (based on a seat ticket). Other products such as Sparschiene tickets, transport association fares and add-ons such as reservations are not eligible for the discount, but can be booked subject to availability. The highest applicable discount is automatically calculated and the reduced fare is shown when booking. The congress discount applies exclusively to the ÖBB standard price. Participants are responsible for paying for the tickets they have booked.

• Can I also buy a ticket for the City Airport Train (CAT) using the ÖBB Congress Account?

  No, it is not possible to purchase CAT tickets.

• Can online tickets be cancelled?

• Can I use my ÖBB Congress Account to reserve a seat in a Business Compartment at a lower price or free of charge?

  No, you cannot access these areas at a lower price or free of charge.

• Can I also book hotels through the Congress Account?

  No, it is not possible to make hotel bookings. The ÖBB Congress Account is a booking platform for travel to and from the congress by train.

• What payment options are available to participants in the new ÖBB Congress Account after registration?

  Participants can pay for the tickets they have booked by credit card, PayPal or an online bank transfer.

• How many participants can register for the ÖBB Congress Account?

  There is no upper limit for the number of participants.

• If the congress is cancelled, will my tickets be cancelled automatically?

  No, since only the participants have access to their bookings, they are the only people who can cancel the tickets independently within the framework of our cancellation conditions.

• Can participants make bookings for more than one person after registering, or does each person have to register individually?

  Yes, it is possible to make bookings for more than one person.

• Is buying a return ticket required?

  Booking a return journey is not compulsory.
