• What is SimplyGo!?

  SimplyGo! is an additional feature in your ÖBB account. SimplyGo! makes it easier for you to buy tickets and travel on selected modes of transport. SimplyGo! recognises routes travelled between locations within Austria and along corridor routes using GPS tracking, calculates the appropriate fare and automatically invoices the journeys you have made on the following day using the saved credit/debit card. All you have to do is check in at the start of your journey before boarding the means of transport and check out again at the destination stop after getting off the means of transport.

• What are the advantages of SimplyGO!?
  • One ÖBB app, one ÖBB account: activate SimplyGo! once and free of charge in your ÖBB customer account and use the easiest and fastest way to obtain a valid travel pass
  • Maximum flexibility: once you have successfully checked in, you are entitled to travel on many public transport services throughout Austria - you can decide spontaneously when to change trains and where to end your journey. 
  • Automated ticketing: we automatically calculate the best offer for your SimplyGo! journeys the following day. If you travel a lot on one day, for example, we will only charge you for the cheaper day pass instead of several individual tickets.
• How can I buy a ticket through SimplyGo!?

  A journey with SimplyGo! always starts when you check in and ends when you check out. During this period, you have a valid travel pass within the SimplyGo! zone. You can access your travel pass with three clicks:

  • Step 1: Open the ÖBB app
  • Step 2: Click on SimplyGo! in the menu bar at the bottom of the screen
  • Step 3: Check the pre-selected station and swipe to the right before boarding the means of transport

  Once you reach your destination stop, you can check out after getting off the train/bus by dragging the slider to the left. Your journey will be billed automatically to your credit/debit card on the following day.

• What are the conditions for using SimplyGo!

  You must meet three conditions in order to use SimplyGo!:

  • You must have a functioning smartphone with a touchscreen and Apple iOS 15 (or higher) or Android 6.0 (or higher) operating system. This must be equipped with a functioning SIM card that allows the use of mobile data. 
  • You must have activated it in your ÖBB account. You need to have installed the ÖBB app on your smartphone and logged in with your customer account. You can activate the SimplyGo! feature in your ÖBB account by agreeing to the GTC and accepting the data protection agreement.
  • You must enter a credit/debit card in order to use SimplyGo!. A pre-authorisation is carried out to check the validity of the provided credit/debit card. The pre-authorised amount will then be refunded.

  Unfortunately, we do not currently offer SimplyGo! for Huawei devices in the P40 or Mate 30 series, as these are not compatible with Google location services.

• How do I use the Park&Ride access system with SimplyGo!?

  The SimplyGo! ticket is only valid during an active journey (=time between check-in and check-out). This means that the barcode required for the Park&Ride access system is only available when a SimplyGo! journey is active.
  In order to be able to use the access system with SimplyGo!, you should therefore only end your journey in the ÖBB app after scanning the barcode on the SimplyGo! ticket at the exit terminal when leaving the Park&Ride facility.

• Can business customers use SimplyGo!?

  At the moment it is not yet possible for business customers to use SimplyGo!. However, you can use the feature for private journeys by logging into the ÖBB app with your personal ÖBB account details and activating and using SimplyGo! there. As soon as you want to use the ÖBB app for business trips again, you will have to log back in with your ÖBB Business Account details and will not be able to access the SimplyGo! feature there.
