If you have already searched for a journey or saved it as a favourite (marked with an asterisk), you can make it available offline.

How can I make a journey available offline on ÖBB Scotty for Android?
Open a journey and scroll to the bottom of the page, then tap on "Make available offline". Then go back to the home page of the app and you will see your saved offline search in the "Offline" tab.

Can I save a timetable connection in the calendar of my device?
Yes, if you have searched for a particular journey, you will see three buttons "Share", "Calendar" and "Save". If you tap on "Calendar", all you have to do is select your preferred calendar and the journey will be transferred.

Can I display a chosen route visually on a map in ÖBB Scotty for Android?
Yes, if you tap on "Show map" in your selected journey.

How do I install ÖBB Scotty for Android?
You can find the app in the Android Google Play Store by searching (tap on the magnifying glass) with the words "ÖBB Scotty".
You can read the description by tapping on "Scotty mobile". When you tap on "Install", you will be shown the authorisations that the app requires. If you accept them, the app will be downloaded to your device and installed automatically.

What can I do in ÖBB Scotty for Android in the ‘Timetable’ menu (train symbol)?
Once you have entered your start point and destination, you will be shown all possible connections at the time of your choice.
You can also tap on the "Advanced" button to access additional settings (e.g. choose a particular mode of transport).

Which settings can I change in the "Advanced" menu in ÖBB Scotty for Android?
Here you can, for example, select your preferred means of transport, specify transfer times or decide whether you want to select a connection that passes through a particular station.

"Via" allows you to specify a station that you want to travel through. - Mode of transport
Under "Mode of transport" you have the option of selecting a specific mode of transport - Transfer time
Under "Transfer time" you can specify how much time you need to change from one mode of transport to the next. - Only direct connections
If this box is ticked, only direct connections will be shown in your search results. - Bicycle transport
If you tick this box, only trains that allow you to take a bicycle with you will be displayed in your search. - Wheelchair space (within Austria)
If you tick this option, only trains that offer spaces for wheelchairs will be shown in your search results.

I want to swap the information I entered for my start location and destination in the "Timetable" tab quickly. Is this possible?
Yes, there are two ways of doing this. Either tap the button with the two arrows or tap the menu button in the "Timetable" tab and then select "Opposite direction".

What can I use the "Departures" tab in ÖBB Scotty for Android for?
Here you can view departure boards for a station or location. In "Advanced" you can also select a mode of transport and choose the direction of travel.

f I want to arrive at my destination at a certain time, can I also search for this with ÖBB Scotty for Android?
Yes, tap on Arrival either under "Timetable" or "Departures" and you will be shown the next connection that will arrive at the time you specified.

Can I update my timetable/departure board in ÖBB Scotty for Android?
Yes, to do this, tap and hold in the connection that you have already opened in the timetable or departure board and drag your finger downwards and release. The search result will now be refreshed.

Can I put my favourite connections or departure and arrival boards on my Android start screen?
Yes. However, you must first save your connection, location and station as favourites and then make them available offline. There are several ways to place the widget on your start screen.
Go to the Android home screen and select the "Add apps and widgets" function via the menu button or the "Widgets" tab in the Scotty app menu. Select your desired widget and place it on your preferred home screen.
Another option is to hold down the start screen with your finger and tap on "Apps and widgets". Next, tap on Widgets, then search for "ÖBB Scotty 4x2 (departure board)" for example.

What can I do in the "Trains" menu in ÖBB Scotty for Android?
Here you can search for individual trains by their train number.

What is "News" in ÖBB Scotty for Android?
In the "News" section you can subscribe to RSS feeds and news for all the regions of Austria.
If you tap on a particular province, you can subscribe to messages for that province and receive information on engineering works, roadworks, timetable changes and so on.

What are favourites in ÖBB Scotty for Android?
To create favourites in ÖBB Scotty for Android, tap the star symbol next to the connections/stations that you already use in the "Timetable" tab. This will then be added to your favourites and ranked at the top.

Yes, the most recent connections, locations and departures can be found at the bottom of the homepage.
