SalzburgerLand

The Hills are (still) Alive

Even after 60 years, "The Sound of Music" - filmed in Salzburg in 1965 and starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer - is still one of the most successful musical film adaptations of all time! A winner of five Oscars, it has already delighted over a billion people worldwide and continues to attract fans from all corners of the globe to this day! They want to see it, that vanished paradise, and dream a little and enjoy the serenity of an alpine summer’s day.

After all, the charm of the filming locations - the meadows of the Salzburg Alpine summer and the backdrop of the UNESCO World Heritage City of Salzburg - is as unique today as it was then! While the animals graze on the alpine pastures high up in the mountains in the summer months and the alpine huts serve up home-made delicacies, the city of Salzburg lines up a series of celebrations, cultural highlights and city festivals.

To ensure you enjoy an unforgettable holiday, crystal-clear lakes, excellent restaurants and traditional guesthouses round off what the region has to offer for your perfect summer holiday!
