Kingdom of Railways
The Kingdom of Railways, located in the Vienna Prater, is an interactive model railway world full of attractions for the young and young at heart.
It awaits you:
- The main attraction - a huge model railway. The model railway covers 270 m² and shows the whole of Vienna in minature. It has been operating since the Kingdom opened. And it will continue growing! Bit by bit it will be extended to include the rest of Austria’s states. With a planned area of 1,000 m², it should become the biggest model railway system in Austria.
- An old-fashioned tram - and you can even go inside the driver’s cabin.
- Remote-controlled model cars
- A hall of mirrors
- Race course
- A virtual reality experience
- An adventure corner with a climbing wall
- A play corner with wooden trains made by the Woody company
- A photo corner and much more.
- Demonstration spaces for school trips
The simplified railway model on a scale of 1: 87 (H0) presents important historical and technical dominants of individual federal states, significant landscape elements and, above all, the main railway lines of the transport infrastructure. The construction of the model in itself takes an extremely long time, so it will be done in stages.
