The KTM Motohall in Mattighofen offers each and every visitor a truly extraordinary experience: it’s about heroes, their bikes and their adventures. It’s about history, innovation and technology, all centred on motorcycles and the KTM brand.
A unique experience
As well as having an impressive history as the strong foundation on which two-wheeler culture in the entire region is built, the KTM Motohall is rooted above all in the dynamic present.
The interactive exhibition leads visitors through three levels. You can see the design process, from initial sketch to finished product. Animations bring the technical details to life.
Street and offroad bikes race on a replica banked curve, leading up to the climax of the exhibition: the Heroes Floor. Here, visitors meet the bravest and most successful KTM riders of all time. Dive into the world of KTM through a spectacular 120-metre-long, 360-degree video installation. Classic bikes are given a new lease of life in the living workshop. The in-house mechanics work mostly on motorbikes from the early days of KTM. Visitors can get right up close, watching the bikes be brought back to life with fresh engine oil. If it’s something you’re interested in, you can also put your questions straight to the chief restorer.
Exciting kids’ programme
On the Rookie-Tour, the youngest visitors can go on a rally through the exhibition world of the KTM Motohall. Speeding past simulators, checkpoints and their favourite riders. Your little champions gather their own impressions and experiences across all levels of the exhibition and document their knowledge in a booklet that they can take home with them. The in-house Innovation Lab offers workshops (advance booking required) in which children and young people can engage with special features like design and CAD software; a 3D printer; a 3D scanner; a laser cutter; and a doodle, soldering and virtual reality station, where young visitors can have fun learning first hand about the various design and production processes. Our motto is not just to watch, but to experience. You can find dates and tickets for the Innovation Lab Workshops here!
Special exhibitions
In the special exhibition “LEGENDS OF THE DAKAR”, those who have experienced the heat and cold, the highs and lows, talk about the adventure themselves. With ten historic Dakar motorcycles and numerous artifacts from this infamous race, the exhibition brings the Paris-Dakar, South America and Saudi Arabia experience to life for visitors. The years in which legends such as Heinz Kinigadner, Fabrizio Meoni, Marc Coma and, more recently, Matthias Walkner, Toby Price and Kevin Benavides were created are highlighted. Untold stories are told and deep insights are provided into the competition of what is probably the toughest race in the world.
“30 YEARS OF DUKE” KTM's uncompromising and bold motorcycle segment, which has been shaking up the road for 30 years, is known for its aggression, performance and straightforwardness. Every one of the DUKE motorcycles ignores the status quo and embodies the exciting alternative to the boring uniformity of traditional street bikes. The KTM Motohall shows the development of the DUKE into a unique icon and tells the stories of the people behind it, the inventors, the riders and the developers. 15 extraordinary single and twin cylinders from all model series are on display, integrated into the eventful history. A unique special exhibition as a tribute to the READY TO RACE mentality.
Restaurant and shop
A must-see is the KTM Motohall Shop, which extends over about 300 m² and offers everything that a true fan’s heart can desire, from KTM PowerWear Casual to KTM accessories. It’s fully accessible, and you don’t need a ticket to enter. Another highlight is the KTM Motohall Retro Collection, which gives KTM’s earliest fans the chance to express their connection to the brand. The à la carte Garage Restaurant in the adjacent townhouse is the perfect place to service your body and soul. Here, it’s not engines that get fine-tuned - it’s visitors’ sense of wellbeing. The menu invites you to join us on a culinary journey of discovery.
As well as 130 spaces in the public underground car park, there is a dedicated parking area for motorbikes just across the road from the KTM Motohall.
