On the Geisterberg mountain in St. Johann in Pongau, the summer months say “Welcome to the world of friendly ghosts”. Over 40 large and small play stations for children along the hiking paths – most of which are suitable for baby strollers – make the Geisterberg one of the most popular excursion destinations in the Salzburg region. Highlights are the Geisterberg castle, the Geisterdorf village, water games, climbing towers, swings and numerous slides. The ascent with the Alpendorf gondola lift is effortless and comfortable. The Geisterbergzug, a tractor-pulled train, conveniently takes all guests part of the way from the top station to the centre of the Geisterberg Adventure World. Immediately upon arrival in St. Johann, you’ll find a large children’s play paradise directly in front of the valley station of the Alpendorf gondola lift. From a giant trampoline, mini go-cart track, water boats to several slides and swings, there’s something for everyone!
Highlight on the Geisterberg:
New: Drachi’s children’s climbing wall is the right attraction for adventure-hungry kids to push their own limits. Secured to a steel cable, they and their parents can climb the 40 metre-high Drachenwand on the Geisterberg with their parents. The necessary via ferrata equipment can be rented from the sports shop at the valley station.
